On the International Day of Peace, we asked ourselves a simple question: What does peace mean to a family that has been displaced by conflict?
For families affected by violence in rural Benue, peace is not only about ending attacks. It is also about being able to return home, feed their children, restore their livelihoods, live alongside their neighbours without fear, and rebuild their lives with dignity.
That is why GoGreen chose to commemorate the 2026 International Day of Peace by standing with conflict-affected families in Otukpo-Nobi community, Benue State.
Thanks to donations received through GlobalGiving, we distributed 25kg bags of rice to 25 vulnerable households, supporting approximately 125 people.
The intervention was modest compared with the scale of need, but its message was powerful:
Peace requires solidarity. Peace requires compassion. Peace requires us to stand with people living with the consequences of conflict.
The families expressed their appreciation for the support. Community traditional leadership also welcomed the initiative and the solidarity shown to affected households.
Yet many more families remain beyond the reach of our current resources. This is where you can make a difference.
By supporting the Feed Displaced Families in Benue Project, you can help us extend food assistance to more families while reinforcing the dignity, resilience, and hope communities need as they recover.
This International Day of Peace, we delivered more than food. We delivered a message: you are not alone.
Help us carry that message to the next family.
