Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria

For families in Otukpo-Nobi community, Benue State, Nigeria, peace is more than the absence of violence. It means being able to return home without fear, provide food for their children, rebuild their livelihoods, and begin again after conflict has taken so much away.

Recently, Otukpo-Nobi experienced a violent attack that claimed lives and displaced families from their homes. For many affected households, the consequences did not end when the attack was over. Families were left grieving loved ones while also confronting displacement, disrupted livelihoods, and the immediate challenge of putting food on the table.

On September 23, 2026, as part of activities commemorating the International Day of Peace, GoGreen Environmental Health Sustainability Initiatives visited the community with a message of solidarity—and practical support.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors through GlobalGiving, we provided 25 vulnerable households with a 25kg bag of rice each, reaching approximately 125 people based on an average household size of five.

For a family recovering from conflict, a bag of rice may appear simple, but its significance can be profound. It means meals during a period of uncertainty. It means scarce household resources can be directed toward other urgent needs. Most importantly, it tells a family facing loss and displacement: you have not been forgotten.
