Please Don't Wait for the Next Headline
By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader
When a major attack occurs in Benue State, it briefly captures international attention. News headlines highlight the death toll, striking images are circulated, and an initial wave of shock resonates globally. However, as the media spotlight shifts elsewhere, the profound needs of displaced families remain unresolved.
- Hunger continues.
- Displacement endures.
- Trauma lingers within affected communities.
Frequently, before one community can begin to heal, another tragedy unfolds. In April 2026, an attack in Gwer West claimed 17 civilian lives. Just months later, Otukpo-Nobi faced another deadly assault. This recurring pattern illustrates why urgent, ongoing support is required—rather than waiting for the next crisis to make headlines.
Through the Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria project, GoGreen works directly with vulnerable and displaced families whose struggles do not end when the cameras leave. Their daily reality includes:
- The ongoing need for nutritious food
- The necessity for clean water for children and adults alike
- Access to basic hygiene materials for women and girls
- Secure places to sleep for those who fled with nothing
Our ability to respond rapidly and effectively depends on compassionate individuals like you. If you have donated before, we extend our sincere gratitude. Today, we invite you to consider supporting us again—or to share our appeal with others who may be able to help.
Do not wait for the next headline to remind the world of Benue’s ongoing crisis. The need is urgent, and your support can make an immediate and meaningful difference.
Together, we can ensure that families who survived the violence also survive the aftermath.

They Survived the Violence. Help Them Survive the Hunger.
Every day, newly displaced families in Benue face not only hunger but the loss of dignity that comes with inadequate hygiene, unsafe shelter, and the inability to meet their own basic needs. The trauma of displacement is compounded by daily struggles—mothers unable to feed their children, families without clean water, and girls lacking essential hygiene supplies.
The Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria project by GoGreen recognizes that survival is about more than food. Our comprehensive support includes:
- Nutritious meals for children and adults
- Clean water and water containers
- Sleeping mats and blankets for comfort and safety
- Hygiene kits for women and girls to preserve health and dignity
But as the number of displaced families rises, so does the urgency for expanded support. Our ability to serve each new family depends on the generosity of people like you.
Your donation today can restore dignity, comfort, and hope for a family that has already lost so much.
By sharing this message and contributing, you can help us reach more families with the holistic care they urgently need.

From Escape to Survival

The Ongoing Struggle for Displaced Families: They Survived the Violence. Help Them Survive the Hunger.
When families in Benue State flee violence, they leave behind everything built over a lifetime—homes, farms, cherished possessions, and, all too often, loved ones. Escaping conflict is not the end of their ordeal, but the start of a new battle to survive every day.
Once the immediate threat passes, a harsh reality sets in: hunger and malnutrition quickly follow displacement. Fields and food stores are abandoned, and families find themselves without access to even the most basic meals. Children are especially vulnerable, facing stunted growth and weakened immune systems due to inadequate nutrition.
Through the Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria project, GoGreen is delivering emergency food aid to the most affected households. Our support helps families bridge the gap between crisis and stability—ensuring children have food, and parents can focus on rebuilding their lives.
Yet, as violence continues to displace more families, our resources are stretched thin. For every family we reach, more remain in urgent need.
You can help these families survive what comes next. Your donation provides life-saving food and vital hope to those who have lost everything.
Please consider making a contribution. Every gift, no matter the size, brings relief and restores dignity to displaced families.
Donate. Share. Give Hope.
