The Humanitarian Crisis in Benue Is Growing

By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader

The humanitarian crisis in Benue State is escalating as ongoing violence continues to force families from their homes. According to Amnesty International, by 2025, at least 500,000 people had been displaced in Benue, with many struggling to access food, clean water, sanitation, shelter, and healthcare.

Each new attack adds to an already overwhelming situation. There are families who have been displaced for months or even years and still depend on humanitarian support, while new families are arriving daily after fleeing recently affected areas.

During our recent field assessment in Otukpo-Nobi, the GoGreen team saw the widespread damage and spoke with community members working to recover and rebuild. The needs we witnessed are urgent and real, from emergency shelter and food to safe water, hygiene materials, and basic household items.

Through our Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria project, GoGreen is mobilizing assistance to address these critical needs, including dignity supplies for women and girls. However, available resources remain far below the growing demand.

This is where our donors’ support makes a tangible difference. Your generosity allows us to reach families who might otherwise go without help, ensuring that no one is left behind in this crisis.

Please consider making a donation today. If you’re unable to give, sharing our campaign can help us reach others who may be able to support. Together, we can bring relief, hope, and dignity to displaced families in Benue who should not be forgotten.
