In the early hours of Sunday, July 12, 2026, the Otukpo-Nobi community in Benue State was violently attacked by armed men, shattering the lives of countless families once again. This tragic event is not an isolated incident but part of a disturbing pattern of repeated violence that has plagued Benue State for years.
Benue has long been a region marked by conflict involving farming communities, cattle herders, and various armed groups. According to Reuters, much of this violence stems from fierce competition over land and natural resources—resources that are vital for the survival and livelihood of these communities.
One of the most devastating attacks occurred in June 2025, when over 200 people lost their lives in the Yelewata community. Many of those victims had already fled violence elsewhere and were seeking refuge in a local market. The fact that they were attacked again in a place they considered safe is a heartbreaking reminder of the vulnerability faced by displaced families.
These repeated assaults force families to flee their homes, leaving behind everything they know and own. They arrive in displacement camps hungry, frightened, and uncertain about what the future holds. They need our help—now more than ever.
Your support can provide emergency food assistance to these displaced families, ensuring that children and adults do not go hungry as they navigate the trauma of displacement. Every meal you help provide is a lifeline, offering nourishment, comfort, and hope amidst the chaos.
Please join us in standing with the people of Benue State. Your generosity can help restore dignity and sustain life during these desperate times. Together, we can make a difference.
Will you help us feed families who have lost everything? Every donation counts.
