Every week brings heartbreaking news from communities across Benue State.
Families who had hoped to return home are once again fleeing for safety. Entire villages are being abandoned overnight. Children are watching their homes disappear behind them. Mothers are carrying babies with nothing more than the clothes they are wearing. Elderly people are leaving behind farms they cultivated for decades because remaining would cost them their lives.
July 13, 2026, another tragic attack claimed the lives of at least 16 villagers in Benue State, forcing even more families to flee their communities in search of safety. Sadly, this is only one of many violent incidents that continue to occur across the state, deepening displacement and humanitarian needs. Reports such as this remind us that behind every headline are real people whose lives have been permanently changed.
Behind every statistic is a human story. A mother wondering how she will feed her children tonight. A child who has not attended school for months because their classroom has become a shelter for displaced families. A father who once provided for his family through farming but now depends entirely on humanitarian assistance. An elderly grandmother sleeping on a bare floor because she escaped with nothing.
These are the realities we witness every time our team visits displacement camps and affected communities. With your support we can reach out to many more families.
Thank you for standing with us through this strugles.
