A Child Should Never Have to Choose Between Hunger and Hope
No child should have to fall asleep hungry because conflict forced them from home.
Yet, this is the daily reality for thousands of children in Benue State, Nigeria. Families who once grew their own food, earned a living from their farms, and dreamed of a brighter future have been forced to flee violence with little more than the clothes they were wearing. Today, they live in overcrowded displacement camps where every new day begins with uncertainty.
Many parents face an impossible choice: whether to share the little food they have among their children or go without eating themselves. Mothers skip meals so their children can have one more plate of food. Young children suffer the consequences of hunger, poor nutrition, unsafe drinking water, and limited access to basic necessities that many of us take for granted.
More than 510,000 people remain internally displaced across Benue State, with women and children bearing the greatest burden of this crisis. Behind every statistic is a family longing for safety, stability, and the chance to rebuild their lives.
At GoGreen, we believe that no family should be left to face this crisis alone.
With the support of compassionate people around the world, we are delivering monthly food assistance, nutritious meals for vulnerable children, safe drinking water, hygiene supplies, blankets, sleeping mats, and dignity kits for women and girls living in displacement camps around Makurdi. We also work alongside communities to restore hope, strengthen resilience, and help families begin the journey toward recovery.
But the need continues to grow.
Every gift—no matter the size—creates real change. It helps place nourishing food on a family's table, provides clean water that protects children from preventable diseases, and gives mothers the essential supplies they need to care for their families with dignity. Most importantly, it sends a powerful message to people who have lost so much: you are not forgotten.
Your generosity is more than a donation. It is comfort for a frightened child, strength for an exhausted mother, and hope for a family determined to rebuild their future.
Together, we can ensure that children are remembered not for the hardships they endured, but for the futures they were given the opportunity to pursue.
Please stand with the displaced families of Benue today. Together, we can replace hunger with nourishment, fear with security, and despair with lasting hope.
