By Jackson Ameh | Project Leader
Benue State has long been known as the "Food Basket of Nigeria," supplying agricultural produce to millions across the country. Today, however, many of the very farmers who once fed the nation have themselves become displaced by recurring violent attacks linked to the farmer-herder conflict. Homes have been destroyed, farms abandoned, livelihoods lost, and entire communities uprooted.
The consequences are devastating. Children are suffering from hunger and malnutrition, families lack access to basic necessities, and many people remain completely dependent on humanitarian assistance for survival. Without sustained support, vulnerable households face worsening food insecurity, poor health outcomes, interrupted education, and increased protection risks.
This project is more than an emergency response—it is a lifeline that restores dignity, protects lives, and gives families hope while they begin rebuilding their futures.
