Warm greetings from Sheepcare Community Centre.
We are delighted to share with you the impact of your generous support through our "Feed a Child to Stay in School" project. Your contribution continues to provide hope, nourishment, and educational opportunities to vulnerable children, ensuring that hunger does not stand in the way of learning and growth.
For the last four months, your donation facilitated the provision of breakfast and lunch to a total of 370 learners in both primary and secondary schools throughout all school days. This consistent access to nutritious meals has played a significant role in improving learners' well-being, concentration, and school attendance. For many children, the meals provided at school are the most reliable source of nourishment they receive each day.
The impact of this initiative has been remarkable. School absenteeism has greatly reduced as learners are motivated to attend school regularly, knowing they will receive a meal. Teachers have reported improved attentiveness in class and increased participation in learning activities. Additionally, the feeding program has eased the burden on parents and guardians, allowing them to focus their limited resources on other pressing family needs while remaining confident that their children are receiving daily meals at school.
Among the many inspiring stories is that of Antony, who joined the program in a severely malnourished state. He often appeared weak, lacked the energy to participate in class activities, and frequently missed school. Through the regular meals provided by the project, Antony's health has significantly improved. Today, he is active, energetic, and enthusiastic about learning. He attends school consistently, participates fully in class, and has become a source of encouragement to his peers. Antony's transformation is a powerful reminder of how proper nutrition can change a child's life and unlock their potential.
As we look ahead, we hope to expand the impact of this project even further. One of our key next steps is to extend support to vulnerable families, as we have observed some learners carrying leftover food home to share with younger siblings who are not yet enrolled in school. This highlights the broader food insecurity faced by many households in the community. We also plan to supplement the current meal program with additional nutritious food options to enhance the dietary needs of the children and support their overall growth and development.
Despite the positive outcomes, the project continues to face several challenges. Financial constraints remain a significant obstacle, limiting our ability to meet the growing demand for support. The number of vulnerable children requiring assistance continues to increase, placing additional pressure on available resources. Furthermore, inflation has significantly raised the cost of food and other essential supplies, making budgeting and program sustainability increasingly challenging.
On behalf of the 370 learners whose lives have been touched through this initiative, we extend our deepest gratitude to you. Your generosity is not only providing meals but also creating opportunities for children to learn, thrive, and dream of a better future. Every breakfast served and every lunch provided is a reminder that someone cares about their well-being and success.
Thank you for standing with these children and investing in their future. We kindly encourage you to continue sharing this project with your family, friends, colleagues, and networks. By inspiring more people to join this cause, together we can reach even more children, strengthen more families, and ensure that no child has to choose between hunger and education.
With heartfelt appreciation,
