Feed 200 starving school children in India

Food makes such a huge difference for children who come from poor families. It allows them to concentrate and focus better in class. When they are hungry, it's very challenging because they lack the energy to engage in class. Often times parents are unable to feed their kids or send them to school. Instead of going to class, children sometimes work in the fields so they can earn money to have something to eat.

According to UNICEF, one-third of the world's malnourished children lives in India. The Naandi Foundation concluded that "around 46 percent of all children below the age of three are too small for their age, 47 percent are underweight and at least 16 percent are acutely malnourished, or wasted."

But your gift is bringing much needed health and nourishment to children like Sirisha.

Sirisha is a very bright and intelligent student. She never missed a day in class until all of sudden she stopped coming. Her teacher was concerned and asked her classmates if they knew why Sirisha was always absent. Eventually, Sirisha came back to school to let her teacher know that she can no longer come back because her father is forcing her to beg for food. He didn't want her going back to school.

One day, her teacher and other school staff went to Sirisha's home and reasoned with her father. At school, she would be geting a free school lunch and she'll also get a chance to learn and gain a valuable education. After some encouragement, Sirisha's father let her go back to school. She was so excited.

She is getting free lunch at school and is no longer forced to beg for food. But most importantly, Sirisha is going to class every day and getting a life-changing education that will help her to succeed.

Your gift is doing so much good in the lives of hungry school children in India. Thank you for feeding them with a nutritious meal every day. Your gift is helping to feed 200 children with a school meal.

Many children in the villages come from poor families, and their parents are unable to feed them or send them to school. When they come to school, they are starving and weak. This is a challenge and makes it very hard to focus in class. Often times the children skip school and work in the fields to earn some money instead of attending classes. They are so desperate for food, some children even beg on the streets for food.

Mahesh is a child who was helped because of your generous support. His father died so his mother had to work to support the family. But she was chronically ill and was unable to provide the family with a steady income. Many times that meant not being able to buy food for the day.

Mahesh did get a chance to go to school. However, he would come to school without a lunch box. He was starving. Many times he couldn’t make it to class because he was so hungry for something to eat.

Today, because of your gift Mahesh is able to attend school regularly. The school started to provide him with a healthy school lunch every day. He is very active in the classroom, and teachers noticed how much more engaged he is when he is able to eat a meal every day. He is so happy that he gets to learn and have food that will provide him with the energy he needs.
