Harvest season and heavy rains are upon us at Makindu Children's Centre

Holiday Food Baskets 2019
We are so happy that we were able to provide food baskets for many households in the Makindu area. Thank you!
However, rain has taken over again through the plains of Makindu, Kenya right as the harvest season arrises. Last year during the rain season, houses washed away in the floods and some people are still without a home. A lot of food was washed away including the new and ready to harvest plants. This is a crucial time for us to prepare to have to provide food to Makindu Children's Centre before the rain gets even worse. Along with anticipating to have to branch outside of Makindu for food, we are anticipating that the prices for grain and feed for the animals will not be going down anytime soon.
The prices for grain and feed have skyrocketed. The animals we have at the Makindu Children's Centre need the grain and feed to survive. We are anticipating having to cover costs for the grain and feed, and the loss of harvest we will come upon as the rain season approaches.
As you can see, there is an ongoing need at the Makindu Children's Centre.
