This project aims to provide, on a weekly basis, essential food items, in the form of food packs, to underprivileged households presently living in the slums in Pattaya. These packs help to improve the general health and well being of all members of the families. In addition food is used to feed children and adults in the Hand to Hand foundations preschool and Saturday Kid's Club.
There are currently at least 140 slum communities in Pattaya where people suffer from extreme poverty without adequate access to food, water, power and housing. This project will go towards addressing the nutritional needs of underprivileged families and the elderly in Pattaya City slums. The food will also ensure that the children attending the Hand to Hand preschool and Kids club receive at least one nutritious meal a day.
The basic nutritious food supplied will go a long way to ensuring better health for the 1275 individuals who are helped on a weekly basis. Better health will give the adults and children more energy and thus be better able to tackle the tasks that life sends their way.
The project will feed 450 adults so helping them to be able to hold down employment and to be able to provide for there families. Further they will be better able to break the cycle of poverty, and ensure better health.
