Be a heroic part of feeding an Entire Community of abused women & girls through the battered women's refuge, Agatha Amani House-AAH. Provide a life of purpose and sustainable enrichment with your support providing land to cultivate food,a green house, fencing, drip irrigation, water & the love & fun of sustainable, resilient & regenerative agriculture. AAH(https://www.agathaamanihouse.org/) is a Domestic Violence Shelter that also provides community outreach through abused women support groups
The land that we seek is adjacent to the compound wherein the other three sides of our compound are now owned and occupied by neighbors. This land is now available for sale for the first time. In order to increase agricultural products immediately for sustainability and to provide space for a greenhouse and future housing facilities for survivors we face an urgent need to acquire the land in question before it is sold. Failure to acquire this land now, limits our chance for any future expansion.
By acquiring the land, fencing it for security and adding a greenhouse for intensive production of food crops we will be eliminating the concern of becoming landlocked and unable to expand the shelter. The immediate positive would be the growing of additional crops using permaculture methods and intensive growth of various food products in the greenhouse for both consumption and sale. Achieving these objectives will reduce dependency on charity. We believe that the answer is in the land.
The potential long-term impact will enable future growth, provide training and skills for survivors towards employment and facilitate sustainable and regenerative agriculture that will assure food long-term. Income generated from farm will offset shelter expenses thus ensuring sustainable operations. Working in the soil provides a therapeutic outlet. We will be able to expand our capacity, launching empowered women back into the community. This love of the land will echo into the rest of Kenya.
