ProCriança's project that was listed on Global Giving has been fully funded. In 2007 Dr. Rosa Celia the projects founder began work to find the funds to build a children's hospital to create a dedicated space where children in Rio de Janeiro with intricate heart surgeries can receive the treatment that they need. This hospital will treat children from poor families from the state of Rio de Janeiro and surrounding areas. Dra. Rosa has already found the funds (approx. USD$1 million) to purchase the land where the hospital will be built. Her supporters are now working on creating a business plan for the hospital and also the architectural drawings. In addition the hospital will provide children from families with the means to pay for the surgeries in this proposed state of the art facility. The poor childrens surgeries will continue to be funded through the efforts of the ProCriança Foundation.
