Dear supporters,
We are thrilled to talk about a very wonderful visit to our campus, auditions for a new program and activities related to the end of the semester.
RECYCLING IN OUR COMMUNITIES
During May, our students, and students from different schools of our communities were part of a beautiful recycling activity organized by Enactus from Mcgill University. This activity had the purpose of introducing the kids from our communities to the important process of recycling, they played games to recognize what objects can be recycled and what objects can’t. They did drawings of how would it be the perfect world for them so they can learn the importance of recycling. This was an amazing experience, the kids learned a lot and had a lot of fun. This took place on May 7 and 8.During this same days we had the auditions for the new strings program, we are now teaching violin, viola and cello with the purpose of soon having an orchestra, with a different approach but keeping the essence of jazz alive .

FEDUJAZZ END OF SEMESTER EVALUATIONS AND RECITAL
On May 25th we had evaluations wanting to organize the academic levels of our school, this evaluations were made by the group of teachers and consisted of a practical exam based on topics already discussed in the current semester and each student had to play a song and a scale of their choice. We got really good results and thanks to this we were able to reorganize the students.
To celebrate the end of the semestre we organized a recital where every student were able to do a performance, this activity took place on June 8 and we invited parents and friends of our kids for them to be part of this beautiful recital, at the end we had a lunch all together.
THANK YOU!
We at FEDUJAZZ reiterate how grateful we are to you, our supporters, who make all of this possible. Your generosity allows us to continue offering classes and concerts (all of it for free), repair instruments for our classes, and maintain our campus in Cabarete, which is a home for our students and it is open six days a week for a year round.
We invite you to keep donating to this project once more in order for music to serve as an outreach tool for Dominican Republic youth.
