Hello friends of FAWEZI!
Firstly, and most importantly, thank you for supporting our project to send twenty girls back to school, it is an incredibly important one and we are glad you agree! The Zimbabwe chapter of the Forum for African Women Educationalists had a busy end of the year in 2015, jam-packed with activities and 2016 is proving to have that same potential if we are able to fund our projects. Three months ago we put our project of sending twenty girls back to school on the GlobalGiving site, unfortunately we haven't had the resources to advertise our presence on GlobalGiving...until now!
FAWEZI is using this coming Bonus Day — June 29th — to launch the advertisment campaign for our GlobalGiving project page, not only to those in Zimbabwe, but internationally as well. It is a difficult time to be raising money but we have confidence people such as yourselves will agree in how vital education projects such as this one are, and if we can get enough people to donate, we won't need very large donations at all.
This project was born in the Epworth Mabvuku Tafara District when FAWEZI visited Epworth and Domboramwari secondary schools to hold consultative meetings centered around our desire to track out of school girls and bring them back into the formal and nonformal education settings. It quickly became apparent how many girls want to go back to school, but can't due to financial constraints. While we have been unable to identify the specific girls for the project and share our plans with them as of yet — due to the possibility of getting their hopes up only to raise insuffiecent funds — if we can raise a quarter of our goal, with the prospects of the money continuing to come in, we can begin implementing our project.
Thank you again for your help, and please consider donating again this coming Bonus Day where 20% of funds will be matched. You can also stay up to date on FAWEZI in general (and especially on the reintroduction of 20 girls into school as we raise the money) on our facebook page here and at www.fawezi.org.
From all of us at FAWEZI, thank you.
