Greetings and compliments of the new year to you dear donors.
The Zimbabwe chapter of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWEZI) has had a gratifying start to the year 2018 as we have managed to take all our current beneficiaries to the next level of high school (Form 4) and also start our selection of new beneficiaries.
FAWEZI will support the form 4’s with examination registration fees for their National examinations this year -all thanks to you our generous givers. We would like to thank you for your continued support which has allowed the girls a second chance at achieving an Ordinary level Certificate.We are also in the process of selecting entries of girls who have dropped out of school and are also pleased to say we have already enrolled one girl who dropped out after falling pregnant and having ceasarian section and losing the baby. We had to put her in form 2 hence she will require support for the coming 3 years. This is the same with other beneficiaries which also required to start in Form 3. Although this was not our initial plan to support the girls for 2-3 years as we developed this project we are grateful that the project is reaching out to where its urgently needed. As an organisation we are very confident that through your support many girls like her will be able to re - build their lives. As of late we are engaging schools in the Epworth Mabvuku Tafara District to assist us in identifying our next batch of beneficiaries as we already received large numbers of girls who need bursary support.
FAWEZI would like to however highlight that the organisation will need more financial resources as the next batch will have girls from lower classes who still have two or more years in high school. This scenario is a result of more girls dropping out of school even during their first year of high school.
The exiting news on the other hand is that our first beneficiary is awaiting her 2017 Ordinary Level results which are due this month.FAWEZI will continue to request your support in taking the girls back into the classroom and together we can celebrate their success.
