Miami Program Snorkel Trip
2019 has been quite the year and marks 12 years since our Responsible Angling Education Program began! Thanks to you, over 200 students were educated this year on how to conserve our oceans by fishing sustainably.
Looking ahead, in 2020 we will be hosting new programs and conferences for motivated young changemakers who want to pursue future careers in marine science and environmental protection related fields or who simply have a passion to protect these vital resources.
Thank you again for your support, we could not have gotten this far without your help! We hope you will consider joining us today by making a year-end gift to support our efforts in 2020.
With gratitude,
Nicholas C. Metropulos

Fall Programs in Full Swing
By Nicholas C. Metropulos | Executive Director

Our Responsible Angling Education Programs are in full swing for the fall semester! With your support we were able to offer our program to an additional site in Miami, FL, which will allow us to educate over 200 youth in South Florida by the end of 2019. This semester, the students in our Miami Program were able to go on an Everglades adventure at Everglades Holiday Park, where they were able to observe up close the extremely diverse ecosystem within the Florida Everglades. In our Boca Raton Program, our students led a beach cleanup on Delray Beach where they learned firsthand how plastic pollution impacts their local marine ecosystem.
Please consider giving today to make sure that these immersive educational programs continue to be offered, and to help make sure that the future of South Florida's marine ecosystems are left in good hands.

Conservation through Education

Taking home hermit crabs!
This Spring we had the opportunity to work with 75 socio-economically disadvantaged children to teach them about their local marine environment. In our Boca Raton program we were able to take our students deep sea fishing where they tested their knowledge of the fishing techniques developed throughout the program. For our Miami program we took our students to Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters where they had the opportunity to snorkel with various marine species to learn about and appreciate marine ecosystems up close.
Through multiple amazing collaborations between soup kitchens and fishing tournaments in South Florida over the years, we have been able to provide over 4,000 meals to those in need. Last month we partnered with the Fish for Hope - Place for Hope Fishing Tournament where we collected, cleaned, and donated over 300 meals of fresh fish to the Boca Helping Hands Soup Kitchen. As well, our Fishing Tournament Donation Program was honored by the Sodexo Foundation for our innovative solution to fight hunger in America.
If you would like to ensure that this impactful organization continues to offer these fantastic programs, please support F4FN in safeguarding the future of South Florida's marine ecosystems by giving today and joining us in the effort!
Sincerely,
Nicholas C. Metropulos, Executive Director
