This Spring we had the opportunity to work with 75 socio-economically disadvantaged children to teach them about their local marine environment. In our Boca Raton program we were able to take our students deep sea fishing where they tested their knowledge of the fishing techniques developed throughout the program. For our Miami program we took our students to Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters where they had the opportunity to snorkel with various marine species to learn about and appreciate marine ecosystems up close.
Through multiple amazing collaborations between soup kitchens and fishing tournaments in South Florida over the years, we have been able to provide over 4,000 meals to those in need. Last month we partnered with the Fish for Hope - Place for Hope Fishing Tournament where we collected, cleaned, and donated over 300 meals of fresh fish to the Boca Helping Hands Soup Kitchen. As well, our Fishing Tournament Donation Program was honored by the Sodexo Foundation for our innovative solution to fight hunger in America.
If you would like to ensure that this impactful organization continues to offer these fantastic programs, please support F4FN in safeguarding the future of South Florida's marine ecosystems by giving today and joining us in the effort!
Sincerely,
Nicholas C. Metropulos, Executive Director
