During the past few weeks, Fishing for Families in Need (F4FN) once again offered a marine science/conservation program to the children at the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade. The kids learned about the anatomy of fish, how to properly cast a fishing rod, how to throw a cast net, how to tie various fishing knots, and focused on topics including: marine conservation, invasive species, ocean pollution, and the perils of overfishing. At the end of every F4FN program, we offer the children a fun graduation field trip to test their skills and knowledge learned. In addition, each student receives a completion certificate and a new fishing rod and tackle box. This year, we were fortunate enough to take the students to SeaWorld where they were able to see various sea creatures up close and learn more about these amazing animals.
After another great summer program in Miami, we are currently in conversation to begin a year long program for the upcoming Fall and Spring at the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade and at their Club in Kendall.
Whether you are a past volunteer, previous donor, community partner, or a person who simply cares about positively impacting children and the environment we ask you to please consider supporting our efforts through a one-time donation or to establish a recurring donation. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Nicholas C. Metropulos
