Workshop for Cerebral Palsy and Mentally Challenged children:
There is no cure for Cerebral Palsy children, but a child’s quality of life can be improved. The Project Vision is involved in providing the medicine, help for surgery. Also conducting various therapies, including physical, occupational therapy, speech therapy. Special equipment to help kids, get around and communicate with others. Let us make them able in doing our best.
Musical Therapy: With musical therapy, the child will be able to reinforce their sound, vocalization, and speech skills. This is the recent addition that The Project Vision is providing to children with disabilities. The techniques are used such as; drumming which helps the child to reinforce the creation of works and then move on to full sentences. The child will play the drum while sounding our words and phrases.
Training for CBR Staff:
Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) is a strategy that aims to improve the quality of life of persons with disabilities. For CBR to be an effective strategy it is essential that people engaged in CBR activities are able to train others in this field. In this regard, The Project Vision conducted a day of training/ learning for our staff. The session was conducted by Sr. Winnie B.S.
First Anniversary of Mother’s Meal Movement and Launching of a mobile App:
On 15th August last year, we started our effort to keep food on the table of the poor through Mother’s Meal. During COVID times, we provided 58,000 Mother’s Meal kits to families in distress. We reached the kits to six countries and every state in India. Providing 5,000,000 meals. As we celebrated our first anniversary, we launched an App to connect restaurants that waste food with those who go hungry around it. We launched the pilot project in Macau.
Formation of Legal Committee: The formation of the Legal Committee is to strengthen the families of Disabilities. Advocates Mr. Vijay and Mr. Shyam from Gauribidanur conducted the sessions and spoke at length regarding the legal rights of children and families with disabilities. Later we formed a 12 member committee involving parents, VRWs (Village Rehabilitation Workers), and the Advocates.
BLIND WALK On the occasion of World Sight Day:
On the occasion of World sight day (14th October 21), The Project Vision conducted ‘Blindwalks’ in multiple locations, in Bangalore, Kerala, Gauribidanur, and Chandigarh. This is an annual walk organized by The project vision in order to create awareness on Eye Donation. There are 15 million people who are blind in the country, out of which about 3 million could see again if only more people came forward to donate eyes. Let us create this awareness, that after us, we continue to live and see this beautiful world.
Cataract Surgeries; To experience a Clearer Vision:
The Project Vision makes a continuous effort to reach out to elderly persons who needs cataract surgeries. During the last 3 months, we could help more than 100 persons to do the cataract surgery and get back clearer vision. Thanks for your support in doing this beautiful mission in giving sight, giving life.
