The Project vision stretches to reach out to the Peripheries. Of the preceding three months, it was a moment of dream come true. The Project Vision is happy to glance back and treasure these moments. Here are some of the jobs that we have done.
The sight-giving mission continues: Presently Project Vision has reached 45 villages and screened the eyes of 2500 people. Amongst them, 300 ought happen to be identified with Cataract, and 140 have been now operated for cataract free of charge. All continue to experience a clearer sight, which comprises the most satisfying mission.
Eye-Donation awareness: While the Eye-donation remains the foremost focus of Project Vision, we remain to focus and spread the awareness on Eye-donation. This term the awareness was held at Tenali (Andhra Pradesh), about 250 students from 5 states participated in the program. The blind walk was conducted and this was a unique thing, where the blind was leading the sighted.
A time to thank our Local collaborators: The Project Vision is based at Kashapura gate, Tumkur District, a rural Eye care campus. On December 24th, on the eve of Christmas, we welcomed the political leaders, our patients who are part of this sight-giving mission. Almost 60 people participated in the program and Project Vision handed over a souvenir as a token of gratitude to each of them. Blood-Donation Program: On December 31st 2019, on the Death centenary of Kannada actor Mr. Vishnuvardhan, a free eye check-up, and blood donation camp was conducted. Around 60 spectacles were given free of cost and 25 people came forth to donate their blood.
CHAI-LF Project: Under The Project Vision, a novel project for people with disabilities was inducted by CHAI (Catholic Health Association of India) and Lillian Fonds (LF). The project is for the year 2020, the aim and purpose of this project are to provide and help people with disabilities to live a healthier life. On the 8th of March, the Women’s day (Women with Disabilities) was observed at our center; almost 40 women participated in the program.
Corona Care: The Project Vision team spread the safety measure of COVID19, through making announcements, distributing flyers within the neighborhood. About 5000 flyers were distributed within the 30 villages.
