In October young skaters at Ba Futuru’s Peace Center received an exciting visit from Hannah Illingworth from the City of Darwin's Youth Advisory Committee.
Hannah, an avid skateboarder, delivered several workshops in skateboarding at the Ba Futuru skatepark, with one workshop specifically for young girls. This was particularly exciting as Hannah was the first female skateboarder to visit Ba Futuru. Hannah brought lots of gear from friends in Darwin to share with the young skaters.
Hannah also collaborated with local artists in street art workshops that culminated in mural at Ba Futuru.
This month hundreds of young people have been gathering at Ba Futuru’s skatepark, soccer pitch and volley ball court for sporting fun and competitions.
