This term was filled with excitement and energy as our students participated in a series of sports competitions, including swimming, basketball, and athletics. Starting from local district tournaments, our students gave their very best in every event.
We are especially proud of A.K, who represented Koinonia in the shot put at the county level, and E.O, who advanced to the county-level swimming competition. Their courage, perseverance, and fighting spirit have truly inspired us all.
Representing Koinonia beyond the school grounds has been a transformative experience for our students. They have not only grown in skill, but also in confidence, discipline, and leadership.
Beyond Academics: A Holistic Approach to Education
Unlike most public schools in Kenya, where students rarely have the chance to engage in extracurricular activities, Koinonia Education Centre incorporates sports, music, and art into the school timetable.
Through professional instruction, students are guided to discover and nurture their talents — often realizing abilities they never imagined they possessed. These experiences open doors to self-expression, creativity, and future opportunities that go far beyond traditional academics.
Impact Beyond the Classroom
Many of our alumni continue to use the skills they developed at Koinonia in their careers and communities. Some have become swimming coaches, karate instructors, music teachers, and singers, while others have pursued fashion and graphic design, inspired by their art lessons.
Their success stories demonstrate how exposure to extracurricular programs empowers young people to shape their own futures with confidence and hope. The lessons learned through these programs — teamwork, discipline, and perseverance — have lasting value that extends far beyond school walls.
