Our teams of community-employed social workers and Chimes Israel caregivers at all of our centers identified 32 children from families in distress. Their struggles include poverty, inadequate parenting, multiple children with special needs, and domestic violence. The professionals assessed that these at-risk families are not providing the care, love, acceptance, and support to help develop their abilities to meet their potential.
A parent counselor and a health professional separately visits each at-risk family at home for 10 sessions each. They provide targeted child development education, family relationship intervention, formal intensive guidance on normative family and home conduct, and directions on at-home therapy continuation.
The program is in progress, we are right in the middle. The professionals report that it is sucessfully changing bad patterns and expanding each family’s ability to provide special needs care. The teams report that the intensive at-home guidance is helping to foster a healthier relationship between the parents and child with disabilities.
Parents are learning proper conduct to reduce environmental risk factors and prevent possible harm to the child's condition. Our occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and speech therapists are providing precise guidance, adapted to each child's personal home environment, so they can assure a a trajectory of improvement.
At the end of the sessions, we will assess the progress, success, and failures, and fine-tune the program for future sessions. Due to the generous donations from people like you, we are able to offer the program as an ongoing service, through all of 2025.
