Soaring into 2026 with Your Help!

Greetings Friends and Supporters!

2026 has been all about community education at The Bird Museum!

So far this year we have welcomed Ventura County schools, homeschool students, professional biologists, and other educational groups into our collections, classroom, and field classes; held outreach tables at local colleges and farmers markets; and hosted events like our April 18th Earth Day Open House when we taught free classes on birdwatching, and showcased new displays in our collections! All of this would not be possible without the support of our GlobalGiving Donors, WFVZ Members, and private donors. Our gratitude for the trust and financial support you have provided is never-ending, and we want to take a moment to say THANK YOU! Whether you donated $10 or $1,000, we will never forget your generosity for our organization in these challenging times.

We also want to share a new program with you: we plan to launch the "Junior Researcher Academy" this summer! In July and August kids can have fun learning about science, science careers, and the incredible world of birds at the WFVZ Museum. We are excited about the launch of this activity and look forward to sharing more details with our supporters as Summer Break nears closer! While we have always loved being a Research Center, where scientists gather to conduct studies on birds, we are equally dedicated to sharing and demystyfing science for everyone. Teaching our community about biology, conservation, ecology, ornithology, and museum science helps us foster environmental stewardship, community science, and the future researchers of the world!

We also have another large event planned in July, dedicated to one of our primary flagship species, the endangered Least Bell's Vireo! We will have a special fieldtrip for donors to vireo habitat on the Santa Clara River where we have contributed to their recovery over the past 20 years, and a unique Museum Open House with seminars and crafts all about the Vireo! Watch for an invitation to these events since you have contributed through GlobalGiving!

We are excited to continue expanding our education program and bringing more people to our Museum with fun and engaging community events. If you would like to continue supporting our work through this GlobalGiving platform we are still happily accepting donations, and you can also visit our website for more ways to support and be involved with our Foundation!

We hope to see you at one of the upcoming events at the Museum this year!

Sincerely and with great thanks,

Linnea Hall, Rene Corado, the Board of the WFVZ, and all of our Staff and Volunteers
