The Hamilton-inspired musical, adapted from a Sufi text by Farid Ud-din Attar was staged for the first time by the TFI students on 3rd June,2023 at St. Andrew’s Auditorium, in Mumbai. The production received an overwhelmingly positive response. Its captivating original hip-hop soundtrack and thought-provoking lyrics along with the magical performance of the students left the audience speechless. The Conference of the Birds took the audience on a journey exploring the Constitutional Values of justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity, alongside a flock of birds who were in search of the true meaning of “India”. Oscar-winning artist AR Rahman, who attended the premiere, said, “It was super encouraging to see everyone come together for an important message.
The renowned actor, Boman Irani who also attended Maya, the first musical of Teach for India, 10 years ago shared “18 months ago, these kids did not know how to speak in English, and today they put up this show in English.
