The pandemic has had a notable impact on the education and mental health of students globally. In this opportunity, we share with you an initiative co-created by students and their teacher Miguel, a participant in our Leadership Program.
In the rural community of Yauli in the Junín region, students from the José Santos Chocano 4th B secondary school are helping to solve emotional problems in their educational institution. With the support of teacher Miguel and school psychologist Maritza, the students started the project "A healthy brain, a healthy life”. Using the scientific method and seeking to solve a problem in their community, students began to develop a chatbot that seeks to address the ravage caused by the pandemic.
This project was presented at the school's science fair and could be carried out, despite the different economic and emotional obstacles of the students who participated in it. Teacher Miguel is very proud because his students were involved and enjoyed the scientific process. Now, he hopes that this scientific knowledge can be shared to continue solving other problems in the community.
We appreciate the support during all this time to make more stories like this one possible. Let's keep working together!
