We recruit outstanding young professionals to commit for 2 years as full-time teachers in the highest-need schools. We train them on the best methodologies to generate positive impact in their student's academic development and personal growth and also in our education system in the future.
In Peru, only 2 out of 10 rural students performs at grade level (urban students: 3 out of 10), drop-out rates are staggering, and the educational quality to which they can access depends on where they are born and their family income. This limits any dream and access to opportunities. In addition, the educational system lacks good institutional management and continuity in its leading positions. Moreover, being a teacher in Peru is underestimated. This is where the great need meets a talent gap
Ensena Peru commits and trains Peru's most promising future leaders, placing them as teachers in areas of educational need for two years, charged with producing life-changing results in their students' academic and personal growth. Then armed with the understanding of the education challenge and the conviction that transformational impact is possible, they become agents of change in the education system.
Short-term impact: Significant classroom results in academic growth to narrow the achievement gap, and personal growth in identified areas of character building to overcome poverty-driven challenges. Medium term impact: Students' life trajectories transformed to access greater opportunities. Long-term impact: Alumni deeply aware of the problems and opportunities in education become active agents of change driving systemic reforms and innovations from diverse professions and influence.
