Poverty Should Never Be the Price a Child Pays

By JACKSON AMEH | Project Leader

When conflict displaces a family, the consequences can continue long after they have found somewhere else to sleep.

Income disappears.

Livelihoods are interrupted.

Possessions are lost.

Family resources become stretched between food, shelter, healthcare, and daily survival.

And somewhere among those urgent needs, a child's education can quietly disappear.

This is one of the hidden costs of displacement.

Parents may deeply value education and desperately want their children in school, yet simply cannot afford enrollment costs, uniforms, books, writing materials, and other basic necessities.

Children should not have to pay for conflict with their education.

Through Every Child in Nigeria Deserves a Chance to Learn, GoGreen is working to support 500 vulnerable children affected by conflict and displacement in Nasarawa State.

We want to ease the financial barriers keeping children outside the classroom while providing additional psychosocial and protection support to those who need it.

A donation to this project does more than purchase school materials.

It gives a struggling family one less impossible choice to make.

It tells a parent, “Your child's education still matters.”

And it tells a child, “What happened to your family does not have to determine your future.”

Please help us ensure that poverty and displacement do not close the classroom door.

Support a child's education today.
