GoGreen is supporting conflict-displaced children in Nasarawa State to continue their education despite ongoing crises. The project provides school fees, learning materials, uniforms, and educational support to vulnerable children, helping them remain in school, regain hope, and build a brighter future. By removing barriers to education, the project promotes resilience, protection, and equal opportunities for affected children.
Nigeria faces a severe education crisis, with an estimated 28 million children and adolescents lacking access to formal schooling, largely driven by poverty, insecurity, and displacement. In Northern Nigeria, these challenges are more acute, as conflict, displacement, and recurrent attacks on communities continue to disrupt education systems and force children out of school. In Nasarawa State displaced children are among the most vulnerable, often unable to enroll in school due to hardship.
GoGreen will provide targeted educational support, including school enrollment assistance, payment of basic school-related supplies, distribution of learning materials, and access to safe learning environments for 500 vulnerable children affected by conflicts and displacement. The project will also provide psychosocial support, and child protection referrals will be integrated to help children recover from trauma and remain engaged in learning.
This project will contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty and educational exclusion among conflict-displaced children in Nasarawa State and surrounding communities. By restoring access to continuous education, vulnerable children will be better equipped with literacy, numeracy, and life skills needed for personal development and future employment opportunities. The project will also strengthen social stability by reducing risks associated with prolonged school dropout, child labour and abuse
