With the influx foreign and local tourists in the Province of Negros Oriental and its capital, Dumaguete City, there is a need to extend the services of the City Tourism Office. This is to further advance the services of the said office to tourists, especially those who arrive via sea travel.
One staff member from the City Tourism Office who will manage and cater to tourists’ queries was recently deployed at the Tourist Information and Assistance Center located at the Dumaguete seaport.
Aside from providing brochures and maps to the tourists, the personnel can also suggest destinations to visit in a certain locality and advise the tourists on the vehicles to utilize and more importantly on the standard fare rates.
An edifice such as the tourist information center can truly provide a place of welcome and a place for tourists, both local and international, to express their queries in the place they are visiting.
The utilization of the edifice proves to the rising need of government and private organizations to unite in support of the development programs specifically on tourism – the thriving industry that has brought millions of income to the various establishments around the province.
