Rizal Boulevard is one of the best known spots in Dumaguete City coupled with the refreshing view of the Tañon Strait. Most locals and tourists come to the place for relaxation, recreation and wellness activities not to mention the beautiful panoramic view of the sunrise and sunset.
Due to the bulk of people visiting the said place everyday, there is a need for more comfort rooms for public use. The construction of the comfort lounge at the Rizal Boulevard comes as a response to the rising need of the city often visited by local and foreign tourists.
Just recently, the construction has began and the tarp has been installed near the site in order inform the public about the on-going project. The construction team prefabricated the column reinforcements and facilitated over the concrete pouring on the structure’s foundation and columns. Another task done was the concrete pouring on the beams.
Ongoing preparations include the natural treatment of bamboo poles with a mixture of garlic, chili, Perla bar soap, boric acid, borax and water as treatment solution. During the process, the bamboo poles are soaked (in the solution), boiled for two hours, and is left immersed in the solution for two days.
Lastly, procurement of boulders, to serve as pedestals for the bamboo pergolas, was done and the local government recently approved the sewage garden concept as an added feature to the facility.
