Introduction:

The “Establishment of Animal Sanctuary in Quetta” project was launched by the Balochistan Rural Development Program (BRDP) to address the urgent need for animal welfare in the region. Quetta and surrounding areas face significant challenges related to stray, abandoned, and injured animals, with no formal shelter or rescue system currently in place. Our vision is to create the first dedicated animal sanctuary in the province, providing a safe, compassionate, and sustainable space for vulnerable animals to receive care and rehabilitation.

Current Status:

To date, BRDP has successfully raised $1,515 through the GlobalGiving platform. These funds are currently safely held in BRDP’s official bank account and earmarked for project implementation. While this amount is a small portion of the total required funds, it reflects the initial support and interest in the project, and we are actively working to scale up our fundraising efforts.

Next Steps:

Given the nature and scale of the project, BRDP plans to initiate the following upon securing additional funds:

• Land acquisition or leasing in a suitable area within Quetta or its outskirts.
• Basic infrastructure development, including fencing, shelter units, water tanks, and feeding stations.
• Veterinary care arrangements, including partnerships with local vets and mobile health units.
• Community engagement and awareness, to promote animal welfare and mobilize local support.
• Recruitment and training of staff to manage animal care and shelter operations.

Fundraising Strategy:

BRDP is intensifying efforts to:

• Promote the project via social media, press, and community events.
• Engage with animal rights groups, donors, and CSR programs for partnerships.
• Share impactful visuals, progress updates, and transparent financial reports on GlobalGiving to attract more donors.
