Escuelas Valientes supports vulnerable public schools in Lima, Peru to prevent and address bullying and cyberbullying early. Through a partnership between LUCHA, BraveUp!, and Peru Pendiente, we provide free access to an AI-powered wellbeing platform that enables safe reporting, maps classroom dynamics, and tracks student wellbeing over time-helping schools act faster, protect students, and build safer learning environments at scale.
In many vulnerable public-school settings, bullying and cyberbullying are normalized, underreported, or detected too late. Schools often lack consistent tools and timely data to identify what's happening early-especially when staff capacity is limited and students don't feel safe speaking up. This harms wellbeing, learning, and school climate.
Escuelas Valientes reduces school violence by making it visible and actionable. Students complete personalized surveys that generate sociograms, revealing hidden dynamics of isolation, aggression, and risk within classrooms. Combined with a secure reporting channel and wellbeing tools, schools receive real-time data to intervene early, prevent escalation, and implement targeted strategies that break the cycle of bullying and improve school climate.
Escuelas Valientes will scale from 2,959 to 30,000+ students in vulnerable public schools in Lima, building on evidence from 131 bullying and 77 cyberbullying cases already identified. Long term, we aim to increase student wellbeing by 15-20%, reduce cyberbullying by 25-30%, and strengthen schools' capacity to use real-time data for sustainable prevention. The model will consolidate as a replicable solution that can expand district-wide and nationally.
