Did you know there is a place where we transform what others do not use, respect the environment and generate employment? In ERR3 DESIGN we contribute to the environment and we do it differently! We are a group of innovative people in eco design in the city of Medellin!
In Medellin 700 families live from recycle, families are composed by almost 3500 persons. Due to the large market, recyclers want to increase their incomes, however some recycle materials aren't well paid or don't return enough money. Wine bottles are a problem for the environment, they are heavy and recycler isn't well paid. In the process of transforming wine bottles into customized cups, the customization of the cup is the added value, however this process is outsourced and expensive.
Recyclers are being encouraged! We are working together to attend the increasing demand of this raw material, collecting bottles at restaurants, snack bars, cocktails bar among others, weekly. Through sustainable process; the bottle is cleaned, the cut is made and the glass wine bottles is converted into customized cups. The sandblasting (mark the glass) is the most important process in our business, with having this process in house we will expand the market and hire new labor.
We are part of an emerging market, getting this machine we will hire more workers in vulnerable state such as single mothers or displaced people by the armed conflict which would become part of our company. Given this, we can impact society in two areas the social and environmental part, in the environmental part mostly because the bottles would not end up in a dumpster and socially we are creating a market for the bottles giving recyclers the opportunity to better paid job.
