Families are often more resilient when they have more than one way to produce food and generate income. That is why F SSIBU Mission Foundation is encouraging households to combine crop farming with poultry as complementary livelihood activities.
Families learn how poultry can provide eggs, meat, breeding opportunities, and income, while crop farming can supply food and potential cash earnings. Poultry manure can also contribute to soil fertility, creating a practical connection between the two activities.
Our training helps families understand basic poultry care, housing, feeding, hygiene, disease prevention, record keeping, and responsible flock management. At the same time, they receive guidance on improved crop production and household gardens.
Girls are encouraged to participate in these activities so they can develop practical agricultural and entrepreneurship skills. We want them to understand that livelihood development involves planning, patience, responsibility, and reinvestment.
Donor support can help us provide starter resources, improved seeds, poultry training, basic equipment, and follow-up mentorship. These investments can help families establish small enterprises that have the potential to grow over time.
For households caring for vulnerable children, diversified livelihoods can create greater capacity to meet food, education, clothing, and other essential needs.
Our vision is to see families become producers rather than remaining dependent on emergency assistance.
By supporting integrated farming and poultry initiatives, donors can help us create opportunities that strengthen household income, improve nutrition, equip girls with practical skills, and build more resilient communities.
