Keep her in school

Education should prepare girls not only to pass examinations but also to navigate real-life challenges and create opportunities. For girls living in vulnerable communities, practical livelihood skills can be especially important.

F SSIBU Mission Foundation is incorporating agricultural skills into our empowerment efforts so girls can understand farming, food production, and agribusiness from an early stage. Training covers basic crop production, seed handling, garden planning, poultry care, soil management, harvesting, and simple enterprise skills.

We encourage girls to participate in practical demonstrations rather than learning only through classroom explanations. By working with families and community members, girls can observe how agricultural decisions affect food, income, and household wellbeing.

This approach also helps challenge the idea that farming is only for adults or only for people with few alternatives. Agriculture can be a business, a source of innovation, and a foundation for entrepreneurship.

Donors can help us provide training materials, improved seeds, farming tools, poultry support, demonstration plots, and mentorship opportunities. Such investments give girls practical resources to apply what they learn.

For a girl who may face poverty, school dropout, or limited employment opportunities, agricultural knowledge can become a valuable safety net and a starting point for future enterprise.

We want the girls we serve to leave our programs knowing that their hands, ideas, and skills have value.

With donor partnership, we can help girls develop practical capabilities that strengthen their families today and open doors to greater economic independence tomorrow.
