Dear donor,
Changing weather patterns are making farming increasingly difficult for families who depend on agriculture. Irregular rainfall, prolonged dry periods, soil degradation, pests, and other challenges can reduce harvests and increase household vulnerability.
F SSIBU Mission Foundation is therefore introducing families and girls we serve to practical climate-smart farming approaches. We want communities to understand that farming can be adapted to changing conditions through better planning, soil conservation, crop selection, water management, and improved farming practices.
Girls are encouraged to participate actively in demonstrations and household farming activities. They learn why healthy soil matters, how organic matter can improve soil fertility, why timely planting is important, and how farmers can reduce unnecessary losses.
Families are also encouraged to diversify what they grow rather than depending on a single crop. Diversification can provide food at different times of the year and create additional opportunities for income.
Donor support can help us provide improved seeds, demonstration materials, farming tools, training sessions, and community follow-up. These resources allow vulnerable households to learn practical techniques that they can continue using beyond the duration of a project.
For the girls we serve, climate-smart agriculture is also an investment in their future. They will inherit communities where resilience is increasingly important.
By supporting this initiative, donors are helping families prepare today for tomorrow’s agricultural challenges while strengthening food security, livelihoods, and the confidence of young people to become responsible farmers and community leaders.
