At F SSIBU Mission Foundation, we are working with families to strengthen food security by helping them grow more of what they eat. For vulnerable households, dependence on purchased food can place enormous pressure on already limited incomes, especially when families are caring for children.
Our farming initiative combines improved seed distribution with practical training to help households establish productive gardens. Families learn how to select suitable crops, prepare land, use organic manure, plant efficiently, manage weeds, protect crops, and harvest responsibly.
We also encourage families to establish small kitchen gardens where space allows. Vegetables grown close to the home can improve household nutrition while reducing the cost of purchasing food. Surplus produce may also be sold to generate modest income.
Our girls participate in this learning because agricultural knowledge is an important part of building resilient families. We want them to understand how food is produced and how farming can become an economic opportunity rather than simply a means of survival.
Donor support can help us continue providing seeds, basic farming materials, practical demonstrations, and community training. It can also help us reach households that have limited resources but the willingness to work toward greater self-reliance.
When a family can produce nutritious food, protect its harvest, and sell a portion of its surplus, the benefits extend far beyond one season. Children can eat better, household income can improve, and families can face difficult periods with greater confidence.
Your support can help turn small gardens into foundations for stronger futures.
