A child’s education does not begin and end at the school gate. Parents and caregivers play an important role in creating the environment children need to remain in school, develop healthy relationships, and overcome challenges.
At Mwanyagiri Community School, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is engaging parents and caregivers in meaningful conversations around the needs of children. These engagements provide an opportunity to listen to families, understand the challenges affecting learners, and encourage stronger collaboration between parents, schools, and community actors.
Through these conversations, we seek to strengthen parental involvement in children’s education and wellbeing. Parents can help identify challenges early, encourage regular school attendance, support learning at home, and create safer environments for children.
The engagement also recognizes that families themselves may face significant economic and social pressures. Rather than placing blame, our approach focuses on listening, identifying practical solutions, and strengthening the support systems around children.
Donor support makes it possible for F SSIBU Mission Foundation to bring communities together around issues that directly affect children’s futures. When parents, teachers, community leaders, and organizations work together, children are less likely to face their challenges alone.
We believe sustainable change requires community ownership. Supporting a child therefore means supporting the network surrounding that child.
By investing in parent engagement at Mwanyagiri Community School, donors are helping build stronger relationships between families and education providers while creating a community environment where children can be heard, protected, encouraged, and supported to pursue their education.
