For many girls in vulnerable communities, menstruation can become a barrier to education when they lack access to adequate menstrual materials, accurate information, and supportive environments. Through the Keep Her in School initiative, donor support has enabled F SSIBU Mission Foundation to provide menstrual pads and menstrual health support to girls in schools across the communities we serve.
Through these efforts, more than 2,000 girls have been reached in different schools, helping address a basic need that can have a significant effect on education, confidence, participation, and dignity.
The provision of menstrual pads is not simply a distribution exercise. It is part of creating an environment where girls can attend school during their menstrual periods without unnecessary fear, embarrassment, or disruption. Alongside materials, our work promotes conversations around menstrual health, personal hygiene, reproductive health, and the importance of keeping girls engaged in education.
For every donor who contributes to this work, the impact can reach far beyond one packet of pads. It can mean a girl remaining in class, participating in lessons, attending an examination, speaking openly about her needs, and continuing to pursue her education.
We are grateful to the donors whose support has helped make menstrual dignity part of our education response. Their generosity has helped us reach girls who might otherwise face barriers that are rarely visible from outside their communities.
We want to reach even more girls with menstrual materials, education, mentorship, and supportive school environments. With continued donor partnership, we can strengthen menstrual health support and help ensure that menstruation does not become a reason for a girl to miss school or lose confidence in her education.
