A girl’s ability to stay in school is influenced by more than school fees and learning materials. The attitudes, relationships, and expectations surrounding her also matter. That is why Keep Her in School is creating space for boys to participate in the solution by equipping them with knowledge and life skills that promote respect, responsibility, and positive decision-making.
In vulnerable communities, boys may grow up with limited opportunities to discuss relationships, reproductive health, gender equality, emotional wellbeing, and the consequences of dropping out of school. Without constructive guidance, misinformation and harmful social norms can influence their choices. Through structured mentorship and educational activities, F SSIBU Mission Foundation seeks to provide boys with accurate information and positive role models.
The program encourages boys to understand that girls deserve the same opportunity to complete their education, develop their talents, and pursue their dreams. They are encouraged to reject bullying, harassment, discrimination, and behaviours that may contribute to school dropout. They also learn the importance of communication, consent, personal responsibility, and supporting peers who face challenges.
This investment has a wider community impact. Boys who develop positive attitudes today can become responsible brothers, classmates, friends, fathers, husbands, professionals, and community leaders tomorrow.
Donor support can help us expand mentorship sessions, reproductive health education, leadership activities, and life-skills training to more boys alongside girls. By equipping both sides of the community, Keep Her in School is working toward sustainable change—where girls are supported to stay in school and boys are prepared to stand beside them as respectful partners in progress.
