For teenage mothers, childcare responsibilities can become a major barrier to education, skills training, employment, and personal development. Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers seeks to connect vulnerable young mothers with appropriate childcare support and practical guidance that can enable them to participate more consistently in learning and livelihood activities.
Where appropriate and feasible, F SSIBU can work with families and community structures to identify safe childcare arrangements that allow young mothers to attend training, mentorship, counselling, or educational opportunities. The program can also provide parenting education focused on child safety, nutrition, hygiene, development, and positive caregiving.
Donor support can help provide childcare-related materials, safe activity resources, training for caregivers, transportation assistance, and coordination of community-based support arrangements. This can reduce one of the practical barriers preventing young mothers from participating in opportunities.
When a young mother has safe and appropriate support for her child, she can concentrate more fully on acquiring skills, pursuing education, or developing a livelihood.
Donor contributions therefore have a dual impact: they support the young mother while helping safeguard the wellbeing and development of her child.
Through Restored Hope, F SSIBU seeks to build practical support systems that allow teenage mothers to pursue opportunities without abandoning their responsibilities as parents.
