For one vulnerable boy and his siblings, education was slipping away—not because they lacked ambition, but because their family could no longer afford the necessities required for them to remain in school. School fees, uniforms, shoes, books, meals and other basic requirements had become overwhelming challenges.
When we reached this family, the children were facing the painful reality of staying home while other children returned to school. Our intervention helped create a pathway for the boy to return to learning and restored hope within the family.
The impact is already meaningful. Instead of spending their days at home worrying about what comes next, the children can once again look forward to lessons, friends, teachers and the possibility of progressing to the next level of their education.
For his siblings, the story is equally important. Supporting one child can strengthen an entire household because children learn together, encourage one another and begin to see education as something they can realistically achieve.
This is why donor support matters. A contribution can remove the barrier that keeps a vulnerable child outside the classroom and replace uncertainty with opportunity.
We want to reach more families like this one—children who are ready to learn but are being held back by poverty.
Your support can help us ensure that a family’s financial hardship does not become a child’s lifelong disadvantage.
