DEAR DONOR,
In many humanitarian contexts, needs are urgent and cannot be delayed. Families facing sudden crises require immediate intervention to prevent their situation from deteriorating further. This is where rapid response becomes critical.
Through this program, we recently identified 30 girls in Kiribwa village who were at severe risk—some pulled from early marriage, others from exploitive labor, and many simply invisible to systems meant to protect them. Our community networks acted fast. Within days, each girl was registered, assessed, and rescued into a safe transitional space. No drawn-out processes. No waiting lists. Just swift, decisive action.
The impact has been immediate. These 30 girls now attend daily catch-up classes, receive regular meals, and sleep in safety. Cases of malnutrition have dropped by over 80% among them. Three who had never held a pencil can now write their names. More importantly, they have begun to trust again—smiling, asking questions, dreaming of futures they never dared imagine.
But rescue alone is not restoration. What remains is equipping them mechanically with tools to begin the journey of skilling: sewing machines, carpentry kits, hairdressing equipment, and basic repair tools. These are not luxuries—they are lifelines to self-reliance. Without them, the girls finish our program only to return to the same vulnerable conditions.
We have the space, the trainers, and the girls’ commitment. What we lack are the tools. A modest investment now will transform 30 rescued girls into 30 skilled young women earning livelihoods, breaking cycles, and building resilience in Kiribwa village.
Every moment matters. Please help us close this final gap.
With urgency and hope,
F SSIBU MISSION FOUNDATION-UGANDA
