Dear Donor,
Today, we want you to meet Sharuwa.
She came to our distribution center unsure of what to expect. Perhaps she had learned long ago to keep her heart small, so disappointment wouldn't hurt so much. She stood firmly in the shade at first—watching, waiting, guarding herself.
But then she saw you. Not in person, but in the shoes you provided. In the generosity that reached across miles to find her.
Because of you, Sharuwa did not miss today's distribution. When her name was called, she stepped forward slowly. Her hands trembled as she received her pair of shoes. She looked down at the new soles, then up at our team. And something inside her that had been locked away for so long suddenly broke free.
She tried to resist the smile. She pressed her lips together. She turned her face. But the smile won. It always wins when hope is real.
You have given hope to Sharuwa. Not just shoes. You have given her a reason to believe that someone cares. That she matters. That she is seen.
Tomorrow, she will walk to school with her head high. She will run without wincing. She will sit in class without hiding her feet.
You rescued her. And that smile she could not resist? That is the smile you have planted.
With deepest gratitude,
F SSIBU MISSION FOUNDATION-UGANDA
