A child’s education does not begin and end inside the classroom. Families and parents play an essential role in encouraging attendance, supporting learning, protecting children and creating an environment where young people can develop with confidence. At Mwanyagiri Community School, F SSIBU Mission Foundation is therefore engaging parents as important partners in improving children’s educational and social wellbeing.
Through parent engagement, we create opportunities to listen to families, understand the challenges affecting children and discuss practical ways to address them. Conversations can include school attendance, children’s protection, parental responsibility, menstrual health, discipline, learning support and the importance of keeping children in school.
This approach allows us to move beyond simply responding to problems after they occur. By involving parents, teachers and community stakeholders, we can identify challenges earlier and work together toward sustainable solutions.
Donor support makes this community engagement possible. Every contribution helps us strengthen activities that bring families closer to schools and create stronger support systems around vulnerable children.
We believe that when parents are informed, listened to and actively involved, children benefit from a stronger foundation both at home and at school.
Our engagement at Mwanyagiri Community School is therefore not simply a meeting with parents. It is an investment in stronger families, safer learning environments and better opportunities for children.
