This project will help to eradicate Polio from the world and make it only the 2nd disease ever to be eradicated. Since 1988 Rotary has worked tirelessly to eradicate Polio and we are 99.9% there. Just 2 Countries to go.
Wild Polio Virus is still found in Afghanistan & Pakistan, until these countries are declared Polio free, the very threat that Polio could return to other countries is only a plane ride away. We need to eradicate this terrible disease, so that all the children of the world can play together, work together and become adults, free of paralysis.
This project will help to immunise all the children of the world, but specifically to immunise children in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the only 2 countries still left with the Wild Polio Virus
