These three months have been full of new learnings and fun! Thanks to you, more than 80 parents from our children's families attended the new workshops on ICTs (Information and Communication Technologies). The idea is to rise awarenes among the families and train them on the right use of the Internet, the safe use of ICTs at home and school, and the development of family projects through ICTs.
With this initiative, parents will assume an active role in the educational community, help their children with the homework, and have Internet access for contributing with their projects and house chores. They felt a little bit insecure at the beginning, because most of them had never touched a computer before, but this soon vanished due to the big motivation they developed in the process!
Our children from San Andrés de Sotavento also had lots of fun in a Pool Party we did in September. This recreational and physical activity was a space to exercise their right to recreation, and practice values such as responsibility and respect among children and their educators.
All these activities are part of the steps we're taking in eradicating child labor in Colombia, by involving the people around them and giving our children spaces where they can really enjoy their childhood. With your support, we will be able to continue making this dream come true, and children in Colombia will have lots of happiness; please help us spread the word, and thank you for all your help!
